IMPORTANT LINC NEWS
LINC in New York has awarded a two-year $100,000 grant to KC Artist LINC to provide new professional development opportunities and resources in the metro area. The funding will be used to offer a series of entrepreneurial workshops for more than 100 artists in 2009 and 2010, as well as to offer a network connection service of nonprofit resource organizations that will provide information about business-building and support programs to all artists throughout the region. To get the full story about the LINC grant, CLICK HERE.
The funding will help us launch our new Artist, INC seminars to be held five times over the next two years, providing 125 artists with a 8 week course of Monday night sessions that focus on professional development and entrepreneurial training for 25 emerging and mid-career artists at a time. Go to Artist, INC for details about how you can apply to participate in this innovative program. The application deadline is Monday, March 23, so don't delay!

LINC has been working for the past 6 years with local partners in places like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, and other major cities to find ways to make lives and working conditions better for artists in the United States. (LINC stands for Leveraging Investments in Creativity, and is funded in part by the Ford Foundation.)
