Programs for Artists

As an important part of our arts ecology, artists have distinctly different professional development needs. The Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City works collaboratively with partners in the region to provide programs and services for artists. 

LINC in New York awarded a two-year $100,000 grant to KC Artist LINC (now known as KCArtistLink) to provide new professional development opportunities and resources in the metro area. The funding helped to create Artist, INC, a series of career building and professional development workshops for artists, and the new KCArtistLink website, a network connection service of resources that provides information about business-building and support programs to all artists throughout the region.

Artist, INC seminars are held at least twice a year, providing 25 artists at a time with an 8 week course of Monday night sessions that focus on professional development and entrepreneurial training for emerging and mid-career artists.

Now Showing is designed to foster partnerships between individual artists and Arts Council business member companies by providing opportunities for artists to display their work in corporate settings.
