If I were an instrument, I would be… A twelve-string guitar … Difficult to master, but stunningly beautiful sound!

My favorite artist is… At the moment, photographer Larry Schwarm, but also love the delicate ceramic work of Linda Lighton. As far as classical artists, Caravaggio is my favorite.

I am inspired by… Nature, in all its beauty and fury.


Jaime Aguirre joined the Arts Council of Metropolitan Kansas City in January of 2002 after several years of corporate business experience. Her expertise serves her well in her current position as Director of Business Development at the Arts Council. Jaime works with the local business community to explore and develop partnership opportunities with the Arts Council.  Her work also includes special projects and events, such as the annual Plaza Art Fair.

Jaime holds an Associate of Arts degree, further study in fine arts, and is a Certified Volunteer Manager. She speaks fluent Spanish and uses this skill frequently to assist those who do not speak English. In her spare time, she volunteers as a Spanish Interpreter.

Jaime's love of the arts doesn't stop with her day job; she is also a talented photographer with several upcoming exhibitions scheduled. Jaime and her husband Gaston are accomplished dancers and especially enjoy salsa dancing.
