Advocacy Council Meetings

Advocacy Council meetings take place every other month at various arts venues throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. As public funding and support for the arts are continually under fire in the state and federal legislatures, it is important to build an active advocacy coalition. When our voices join together, our message is stronger.

All supporters of the arts are invited to attend these meetings to discuss current arts events. Presenters are invited to talk about a variety of topics including public art, lobbying, and shared experiences.

Visit the Arts Council’s advocacy page for an advocacy tool kit and to check for upcoming Advocacy Council meetings.

Please display our logo on your website, programs, and promotional materials, such as your newsletter.  When possible and appropriate, we ask that our logo be featured in the same style and fashion as logos for other major arts funders such as the state arts agencies and the National Endowment for the Arts.  Helping us to promote the ArtsKC Fund helps us to build support and funding to be shared among all of our many grant recipients.

Arts Ripple Effect Report

We all know how valuable the arts are to our communities—so valuable we could talk passionately for hours on the subject.  But that’s not a very effective or efficient way to communicate with people.  Is there a better way?  A groundbreaking report from Cincinnati demonstrates how to simply and persuasively present the case for funding the arts in a way that people will find easy to understand and to remember, so that they become allies in our cause.
