My best arts memory… visiting the Galleria Borghese in Rome, Italy and falling in love with Bernini’s Apollo e Daphne. The tour guide said each of the leaves makes a different pitch when you strike each of them…I was mesmerized that sculptures could also make music!

If I were an instrument, I would be… a drum set, influential in the effect of every piece of music.
My favorite artist is… I can’t just pick one artist, but I love modern visual and mixed media art and contemporary/21st century composers.
I am inspired by…others creativity and their ability to think, speak and act outside the box.
Kristy Ladd joined the Arts Council as Grants and Development Assistant after serving as one of the Summer 2010 interns. She assists in the ArtsKC Fund granting cycles and works with the Development Department on foundation research and grant writing and donor cultivation. Kristy recently graduated from Drury University with her Bachelor of Arts in Arts Administration and Music.
While at Drury, Kristy served as the President of her sorority, Kappa Delta, and raised funds for Prevent Child Abuse America and Isabel’s House through their annual Shamrock Week. She also interned with the Springfield Regional Arts Council, where her love of all arts mediums blossomed. Her undergrad science research took her to Hawaii for two weeks where she studied the effect of geography on Hawaiian visual artists.
In her spare time, Kristy serves as an alumnae advisor to the Kappa Delta Chapter at KU and on the Kansas City Kappa Delta Alumnae board. She also volunteers with TARA, The Animal Rescue Alliance. She also enjoys reading, exploring the Kansas City arts scene, running 5Ks and spending time with her friends, family and pooch, Baxter.
