StoneLion Puppet Theatre, a professional children’s theatre focusing on community art and the environment, is currently seeking a marketing assistant/intern to assist in publicizing our spring Puppets for the Planet Festival series and giant puppet show, Mother’s Day for Mother Earth. The successful candidate must love art, children, the environment and have a working knowledge of social media and online calendars. This is a great opportunity to assist a local non-profit and to gain practical working experience. Duties would include posting press releases and photos to online calendars, assisting in distribution of printed materials, updating social media and working closely with StoneLion’s marketing manager to implement our media campaign. Arts in Prison is recruiting volunteer instructors to provide arts classes to incarcerated adults and juveniles in local facilities and at the Lansing Correctional Facility. Specific needs at Lansing include Choir Director, West Wall Singers, Photography Instructor, Painting or Drawing Instructor, Writing Instructor and Yoga Instructor. We are also looking for a volunteer to coordinate the inmate bands in the East Unit at Lansing. Local needs include a crochet or knitting instructor for adults, and visual, performance or writing artists to provide classes at local juvenile detention centers during the winter school break.
